What is worth knowing about logistics?
Below you will find specific answers to key questions about the contact process, response times, forms of cooperation and the availability of our team. This is a practical compendium for companies looking for a reliable partner in international transportation and contract logistics.
In what languages do you handle transportation and logistics inquiries?
We serve customers in three languages: Polish, English and German, which meets the needs of 92% of companies operating on the Poland-Western Europe routes, according to the Polish Chamber of Forwarding and Logistics. Our operations team communicates daily with contractors from countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy, so we know the specifics of customs documentation, CMR requirements and local transport regulations in each of these regions. If you need service in another language (e.g. French, Italian, Dutch), we provide translation of key shipping documents and support during the execution of the order.
What information should I provide in the contact form to get an accurate quote?
We serve customers in three languages: Polish, English and German, which meets the needs of 92% of companies operating on the Poland-Western Europe routes, according to the Polish Chamber of Forwarding and Logistics. Our operations team communicates daily with contractors from countries such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy, so we are familiar with the specifics of customs documentation, CMR requirements and local transport regulations in each of these regions.
Does Antrans BiS serve only large companies or also small and medium-sized enterprises?
We serve companies of all sizes – from sole proprietorships to multinational corporations. Our portfolio ranges from partial LTL (Less Than Truckload) shipments of 1 pallet or more, to full FTL (Full Truck Load) shipments and permanent logistics services for manufacturing and trading companies. According to the PARP report “SME Sector in Poland 2024”, small and medium-sized enterprises account for 99.8% of all companies in the country and generate 68% of GDP, so flexibility in serving different scales of customers is a priority for us. The minimum shipment to be realized is the transportation of 1 europallet (120×80 cm), regardless of the size of your company – the europallet standard is defined by the European Pallet Pool (EPAL) and is exactly 1200×800×144 mm. What counts is partnership and professionalism in any cooperation.
What does the price of international transportation at Antrans BiS depend on?
The cost of transportation depends on 7 key factors: distance, weight and dimensions of cargo, type of vehicle, urgency of delivery, direction of route, type of goods and additional charges. In 2025, the average rate for international transport in Poland is PLN 6 – 12 per kilometer, according to GP-TRANS, with transport on western routes (Germany, Netherlands, Belgium) being more expensive than eastern directions. Shipments requiring special conditions – refrigerated, ADR (hazardous materials), oversized – cost 20-30% more than standard transport. Additional charges include highway tolls (e.g., German Maut, Swiss LSVA), parking at loading/unloading, and possible customs clearance when transporting outside the EU. European Parliament Regulation 2020/1056 affects costs through requirements for drivers to return to base every 4 weeks.
What is the difference between FTL and LTL transportation and which one to choose?
FTL (Full Truck Load) is a full truck load dedicated to one customer, while LTL (Less Than Truck Load) is partial shipments from 1 pallet, combined with third-party loads. FTL is faster (direct delivery without transshipment), safer and more cost-effective than 10-12 pallets of Euro pallets ( EPAL standard 120×80 cm). LTL works well for smaller volumes and saves up to 40-60% of costs compared to renting an entire vehicle. According to Transport Intelligence ‘s 2024 report, the average delivery time for FTL Poland-Germany is 24-36 hours, while LTL requires 48-72 hours due to the consolidation of cargo in distribution centers. It is also worth considering the type of goods when choosing – high-value cargo, easily damaged cargo or cargo requiring constant temperature should be transported FTL to minimize risk.
What documents are needed to transport goods internationally?
The basic document is the CMR (Convention relative au contrat de transport international de Marchandises par Route), an international waybill regulated by the 1956 Geneva Convention. The CMR specifies the carrier’s liability (up to 8.33 SDR/kg, or ~€11.50 at the IMF exchange rate) and must be issued in triplicate. In addition, a commercial invoice (invoice), packing list (detailed list of cargo), certificates of origin for some goods and possibly T1 customs documents when exporting outside the EU (e.g. to the UK, Switzerland) are required. For ADR cargoes, Material Safety Data Sheets are required in accordance with UNECE guidelines. Transportation of food products requires sanitary and veterinary certificates, and transportation of pharmaceuticals requires GDP (Good Distribution Practice) documentation. Antrans BiS helps to prepare a set of documents – eliminating the risk of delays at borders and customs controls.
How is the process of ordering transportation - step by step?
The process consists of 5 stages:
- Sending an inquiry via form/email/phone,
- Receive a quote within 1-2 days,
- order confirmation,
- Implementation of transportation with GPS monitoring,
- delivery confirmation and documentation.
In your inquiry, specify: loading and unloading point (with zip codes), type and quantity of cargo (pallets/cartons/pieces), dimensions and weight, delivery date and special requirements. FreightWaves ‘ 2024 study shows that inquiries with complete data are processed 58% faster – you save time and avoid quote adjustments. Once you accept the quotation, we sign a forwarding order, which specifies the terms of carriage, the delivery date and the parties’ responsibilities. During transport you have access to real-time GPS monitoring – a standard described by the IRU as crucial in professional TSL service. After delivery, you receive a signed CMR and a completion report.
When is it a good idea to opt for a framework agreement instead of one-off orders?
A framework agreement (logistics contract) pays off for companies making a minimum of 4 – 8 shipments per month – it reduces transportation costs by 15 – 25% and provides a guarantee of vehicle availability on specific dates. According to the Polish Transport Employers’ Association, 64% of manufacturing companies in Poland use framework contracts, which significantly improves cost predictability and supply chain efficiency. The ISO 9001:2015 standard for quality management confirms that long-term cooperation allows for better resource planning and process optimization. As part of the framework agreement, you receive: a dedicated account manager (single point of contact), preferential transportation rates, priority handling of urgent orders, flexible payment terms (30 – 60 days), weekly fulfillment reports, and access to the TMS (Transport Management System) for online ordering. For companies with seasonal increases in orders, we recommend a mixed contract: a fixed pool of vehicles + preferential rates for additional orders.
